Parents and Caregivers of Yandelora School,
At the establishment of the school in 2019 out of the 4 of the 16 classes within the school were classified as IO/AU classes which cater for children with autism and a moderate intellectual disability, 12 classes are named IO/IS for children with a moderate or severe intellectual disability.
From time to time our available places may only sit in the IO/AU space which means that students with the highest level of need may not be able to accesses a position at the school. Data collected indicates that we have an increased need for more classes that are IO/IS.
The school has worked with the Department to rebadge all classes at Yandelora to IO/IS.
This does not affect any current enrolment within the school, nor does it affect the composition of classes. All students at the school remain appropriately placed at our school.
This information was presented and discussed with the Yandelora School P & C who support the rebadging of the classes to all be IO/IS.
